Sustainable Consumption Facts & Trends - CSR Geneva breakfast 14th January 2009

CSR Geneva will kick-start the new year with a CSR Geneva breakfast on Wednesday 14th January at 8am … we hope you can join us! Cheryl Hicks, of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development will present the findings of a new report from leading businesses on sustainable consumption: Sustainable Consumption Facts & Trends, from a business perspective. The new report from the WBCSD explores the relationship between business activities, consumer behavior, and environmental and social challenges. In this report, businesses such as Nokia, P&G, adidas, SONY and other MNCs state their intent to play a leading role in fostering more sustainable consumption patterns through innovation, marketing and communications, and by working in partnership with consumers and stakeholders. Join us for a lively discussion re sustainable consumption and lifestyles of the future, on Wednesday 14th January 2009 from 8-9am. Bring 13CHF per person (which buys you one tea or coffee, boiled egg, bread with jam, honey and chocolate spread - anything on top of this must be paid for additionally: it’s delicious!). We’ll be at Le Pain Quotidien, 21 Boulevard Helvétique in Rive (1205 Genève), in a room on the right-hand side of the café as you look from the street - come in through its own glass door there! Please email me if you wish to come. The WBCSD’s report will be released to the public on the 17 December 2008. Caroline Twigg, Project Officer, On behalf of CSR Geneva (www.csrgeneva.org).
