Questionnaire to determine the need of financial institutions for climate-change related data and services
Dear Friends and Signatories of UNEP FI, We would like to invite you to participate in a survey by completing the attached questionnaire, which will take you 10 minutes. The survey, undertaken jointly by UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the German Sustainable Business Institute (SBI) with the support of the Federal Government of Germany, targets financial institution professionals and aims to determine:
• how and to what extent are financial institutions of different kinds - lenders, investors and insurers - already affected by climate change and how will their exposure develop in the future?
• what are the information needs of the financial services sector with regards to the physical impacts of climate change?
• how well are financial institutions already equipped with the climate change information needed and where are gaps?
Please note that the attached questionnaire contains three sections - one for lenders, one for insurers and one for portfolio managers and investors - and that you should only complete the section most relevant to your institution. The deadline is 5 March; the outcomes will be ready for the UNFCCC talks in Bonn in June.
Furthermore, rest assured that all information will treated confidentially and results published in an aggregate manner. A similar survey, looking exclusively at the German financial sector, has been undertaken previously. The outcomes can be viewed here: http://www.cfi21.org/fileadmin/user_upload/CSC-Bericht_englisch_web.pdf
The aim of this survey is to get results at global level. Thank you for your cooperation. For more information or in the case of questions, please contact: remco.fischer@unep.org.
