To support coordination in delivery of the 2021 Building Bridges Summit and Week

A PROJECT MANAGER
80% to 100%, 12-month contract

In its role as official coordinator for the organization of Building Bridges 2021, SFG is now looking for a highly motivated and highly organized Project Manager. The ideal candidate will play an important role in helping to ensure that Building Bridges becomes the event of global reference in bringing together finance, sustainability, and the SDGs.

THE CONTEXT
Sustainable Finance Geneva is responsible for the coordination of the work of a diverse committee of representatives from the financial, government, United Nations and NGO sectors (the operational committee), as well as that of external suppliers (an event organizer and public relations company) in ensuring the development and delivery of the next edition of Building Bridges.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will report to and support the SFG Director as follows:
1. Preparation of and follow-up on meetings of the Governance committees of Building Bridges:
o Operational Committee meetings: drafting meeting notes, following up on action points / reminders, proposing draft agendas, organization of logistical aspects where this may be necessary, etc.;
o Content work streams: support the organization of and reporting upon meetings of work streams, preparation of documentation in support of and follow-up on meetings etc.
2. Serve as go-to person in addressing operational issues that may arise in organizing delivery, in particular questions that arise from external service providers and/or members of the Building Bridges community. Escalate as may be appropriate to the SFG Director.
3. Track progress against milestones using appropriate project-management tools.
4. Maintain the Building Bridges website, ensuring that it is regularly updated with content and activity that will drive traffic from target groups, and build momentum through 2021
5. Support the SFG Director in whatever additional manner may be necessary in delivery of SFG’s function as coordinator of Building Bridges 2021.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate has a/is:
o Entrepreneurial mind-set, able to take initiative and work in situations of uncertainty
o Organized and detail-oriented, but capable of managing detail in the context of the “big picture” (milestones, outcomes)
o Diplomatic and a team-player, single-minded in working towards compromise to achieve objectives
o Genuine interest in sustainability and finance
o Comfortable working with all levels of seniority across industry sectors

Your experience and qualifications:
o First-class project-management expertise and track-record (latter ideally organising international conferences)
o First-class written and spoken English. Fluent written and spoken French a strong advantage, written and spoken German desirable
o First class ability to identify, summarize and succinctly communicate key information (orally and in writing)
o Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (including XLS), project management software and social media tools
o Experience working with both the public and private sectors would be an advantage
o Valid Work permit
